This funky yellow gold ring is set with a massive cone-shaped, cabochon-cut precious coral, set in an open-worked prong setting. 

Its futuristic shape is typical of the 1970s, when innovations in space travel created a 'space age' in which fashion and design were highly influenced by shaped and motifs from sci-fi culture.
